Keyword Optimize Your Content
The goal of keywords is to help google understand understand you sites audience
Where to place key-words
Title
First 100 words of page
In image alt text
In an h1 tag
In h2/h3 tag
In the last 100 words of page
LSI Keywords; help to broaden the sites audience
Related to key-word but not the key-word
Great options can be found at the end of the google search page
Optimize your content
Make content as accessible and helpful to users as possible
Put Actionable info asap
Ex. create a list of steps, tips, etc.
Have a short intro
Remember a site design is judged first, then the content
Make sure design is easily digestible and highlights the brand and content
Build backlinks
Find broken links on related sites and offer a link from your site as a replacement
Send out personalized emails
Use unique photos
Generic photos can be found on multiple sites which lowers their ranking

Check if google has found your site by searching for it in their engine. If it doesn’t show up the “crawlers” have not found your site
Use descriptive URLS, breadcrumbs (words adjacent to your URL) are most influential
Ensure your site is visually interesting and helpful
Ensure Content is;
Up-to-date
Organized
Unique
Easy to read
Use a range of search terms consisting from industry standards to introductory words
Limit distracting content and advertisements
Make sure all links are to relevant content and that they still work
For accessibility, ensure links are descriptive and don’t simply say “link”
Optimize snippets
Snippets are the introductory sentences underneath the website URL within the initial google search

Much of the recommended steps in these articles overlap, however the actionable items in each vary, making it important to test both when learning how to improve your site's SEO.
